WINTERTON (1) LEACHATE TREATMENT PLANT

Location: Winterton, England
Operational: 1999 to date.

Aspinwall (now Enviros) provided a full consultancy sverice for this project, including process design, construction supervsion. commissioning, and site operator training.

A 1.5 kilometre pipeline was constructed to sewer very successfully using a pipejacking technique.

This plant has been subsequently further upgraded to Enviros process design etc, during 2004/5 with a tank based plant added (Winterton 2) providing a higher capacity facility, as required by the developing site.

Why do we continue to display case studies of such old sites?
We agree that they are far from the “cutting edge”, and certainly not “state of the art” for the UK, and elsewhere. Nevertheless, the site owners continue to use them, and when asked we continue to provide support. Such designs continue to be appropriate for some projects, and in some countries.
