DAF Unit

The Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) Unit receives the leachate, usually after primary treatment and removes the flocculated solids by the introduction of dissolved air. The solids are removed to a collection container for offsite disposal, or dewatered onsite for disposal to the landfill in solid form.

The DAF system achieves high solids removal in a small footprint unit, without the high complexity and process water demands of traditional backwashing and moving bed filters.
